Default What do you like about your 997?

Since we had the negative thread, how about a positive one!

I'll start; I like:
- the instant smile on my face every time I turn the key
- knowing you have the power & acceleration at you fingertips
- the feeling of control and direct engagement to the road
- the look from all angles
- most of all, the sound!

It's a modern Porsche with plenty of power, great a/c, nice amenities, super brakes, and comfortable seats!

Comfy seats?
Good Aircon?
Three lists of likes and no one's yet mentioned:

- the rear weight bias and the phenomenal grip as you push its front end through corners with that rear lump;
- using the rebound of the rear pendulum in a series of flowing corners to nail each successive corner with the resulting (mild) oversteer
- the amazing transmission (manual or PDK)
- how it comes alive when you give it the revs it loves!

Come on guys. It's a sports car.

What I like about my 997 needs editing since its almost everything.

I love cars with great engineering and quality which the 997 has in abundance. My car never squeaks or groans.

The styling - whatever anyone says about previous 911's the 997.1 in my view is the pinnacle of 911 design - it could not and was not improved from that as seen by the 997.2.

The steering - nothing comes near it for perfection.

The sports exhaust noise.

A relatively practical supercar that won't break the bank.

That sense of excitement before every drive. Four years later and my 911 rarely disappoints....remarkable.

in no particular order: the incredible steering feedback; tire grip/feeling of being on rails sometimes; and those sexy sexy curves...nothing even comes close.

It's the best Porsche I've ever owned. It's the best car I've ever owned.

The fact that every time I see it in my garage or in the parking lot at work I will totally get distracted and stare at it's beauty

After nearly half a century of development, the 997 is Porsche's ultimate 911. I love almost everything about it. It's a tour de force for all five senses:

- The look: a perfect blend of classic and modern 911 - simply awesome
- The sound: the wail of the flat six is music to my ears
- The smell: burnt rubber, engine fumes, or leather aroma - all wonderful to me
- The feel: Power, grip, steering, handling - you name it, its got it
- The taste: The taste of victory that leaves one hungry for more

One of the traits I like best about mine is the color...cobalt blue metallic. In different lighting it can go from an almost dark purple all the way to a lighter blue. I also love the interior...sea blue full leather. Such a great compliment to the outside color. I like the rims that came with it as well, of all the rims available for an '08, these would have been my first choice...I like all the spokes. I like the fact that the 997 looks like a modern version of the 993...my favorite body style. You get the look, but you also have all of the conveniences of a car that's not 10+ years old. I love everything about the car...even the badge on the hood....Porsche! I like the fact that I still can't believe it's mine and in my garage...even after two years.

It's German engineered and made by Germans for German engineers and Germans.
