Those Ferrari guys seem to have a lot of bitterness and hang ups. How sad.
BTW, my trainer who is a woman calls guys like this "little sausages" because thats usually what they have

even here in soCal where are streets are littered with cars, my wife could care less what i drive... in fact, she probably wish i had an '89 sentra... and spend the extra money on the house!!!

I personally believe that some women are interested in what you drive, but you should doubt what kind of women they are...
I had a couple of girl friends ride in my car, and when they saw an R8 what they said surprised me more than I thought. If I remember correctly they said "I'd sleep with the owner of that car just to ride in it"
So women are interested in cars, maybe not the particular brand but having an expensive and exotic car attracts them. It's the way some cars look and sound. Some women are only interested in one color: GREEN!
