Default Battery Suggestions

Hi all. I need to replace the battery in my kids' Infiniti G35. Any suggestions for a good battery for cold Michigan winters? The local shop wants to sell me an Interstate, but I thought I would get some opinions here first. Thanks!

Regards,
Frank A.

Regular lead-acd car batteries? They're all the same. There are only a few manufacturers worldwide. Lots of different trade dress labeling though.

OTOH, different _designs_ have different performance features, IOW, non 'traditional' lead acid like gel, AGM might be worth looking into for serious cold.

That's all I know (or think I know )

Then it looks like any battery made by Johnson Controls is a good place to start:

Diehard, Duralast, Interstate for OP Frank, etc.

May I suggest Costco brand. Had some corrosion around the battery area in our family Toyota, which suggested possible leak. Brought it back to Costco and they looked up the receipt on computer from almost 3 years back, and gave me a full refund, even when the battery looked perfectly fine. This is the first issue I've had with their battery (we got several of them) and I am not even sure if it's at fault, but suffice to say I am extremely pleased with their replacement policy. Unfortunately they don't have any sizes for most German cars, including Porsche.
