Default Anyone use the USB plug for music?

Will a NON Ipod device work? I tried connecting my new smartphone (MOtorola Droid 2) via the USB and PCM didnt not recognise it. It did, however, charge it.
Any suggestions? tks

The USB is for, well "USB disk drives" so flash or phones. The phone needs to be acting like a disk drive and show up as music in folders as MP3 or the other supported file types. If your phone isn't being a USB drive, or the drive contains unsupported files, those will not show up under the USB source.

Kosmo you may be able to use your phone by enabling the media share option. I have the Droid X but havent tried to see if it works.

If you can plug the phone into the USB drive on a PC with a cable and have it show up as another drive on the computer without having to install drivers, it will work in the car.

Suggestion: Bring your device to the dealership and try it on a car on the floor.
