Great idea for a thread -- I need the encouragement. It's about 30 deg F here in DC this week, and I've been leaving my '10 C2S in the garage until I get the winter wheel/tire thing put together. Got the wheels today, and bought the tires yesterday. Need to take another business trip tomorrow, but will get them mounted, balanced, and put on early next week, so I can DD through the weather.

Wheels are 18" Carrera III, bought from zschicago here on Rennlist. Tires are Pirelli Sottozero from TireRack, along with TPMS (thanks Damon!).

Looking forward to other's experience with this topic.

Cheers,
Marc

I bought mine in June with 18.5k miles and I just went past 23k today.

Here in Houston there is no need for winter tires but I am loving the heated seats. My only issue is that my bald head is getting cold because the heating doesn't reach all the way up there!

12 months of ownership. Car just had it's first B'day last week. 9.5K miles of DD. I avoid short trips and once I start the car (95% of the time this past year), I have not turned off the ignition all these days before the fluids/oils reach working temp. That usually means atleast a 5 mile drive in normal weather and 10 mile drive in cold weather.

Owned mine since new 3 years and two weeks. Just shy of 67k miles on it. DD year round. Was in MI for the first three winters, now this one in KY. Amazingly I'm on my first set of winter tires still (wouldn't run them in MI but here the snow just doesn't last) - these have over 15k miles on them and I'm going to try to squeak out this winter since it is short here. My only regrets about using it as a daily driver are:

1. the front paint is beat to hell from rock and salt chips. But it can be resprayed if I ever want to, I suppose.

2. It isn't a great car to pick up dry cleaning in, but it is fine for dropping it off!

3. When I need space for something big, this isn't the car to use. As it is my only car, I'm finding that it really can accommodate a lot of different things if I'm clever about getting them in it. But if I want to buy a new TV I have to have it delivered.

On the other side of the ledger, there is no reason to miss the fun that driving this car provides. Life is too short and takes too many turns to miss the fun when an opportunity arises.

Should be turning 55,000 miles in a week or two; it's come a long way from the 4 miles on it when I first touched it!

Well, I picked up my GT3 with 3000 miles on Sunday, have about 3300 today. Even though I will put about 22000 miles a year on it, I can't keep up with some of you.

'05 C2, delivered to me in Jan, 2010 with 25K, now has 36K. This is my 6th 911 and I'm feeling like an idiot because I treated all the others like antique stemware. What a fool! Pretty stupid to realize this now since I bought my first one in 1987....

Another '09 C4S launch car purchased new 2/09... just over 15K miles (I travel 250-300 days/yr). First year trying it in the snow (OEM 997.1 C4 wheels, Michelin PA tires). So far only some flurries, but next week should be the first real test. As a daily, my only gripe is that I can't transport "messy" stuff (I am a freak about keeping my car clean) like I can in my GTI.
