Default My GTS gets a little facelift

Some of you may have read my thread complaining about the dirt that builds up along the front edge of the stone guards that are right behind the doors. Meanwhile, I've been thinking about how good the black stone guards would look ever since I saw the Speedster, as I always thought they great on the older 911's - so, I figured I would kill two birds with one stone (unintentional pun).

Good choice!

Hey, where are the pics of your car? I am sure you posted them as you were quite passionate about the car... but I couldn't find em. Love to see the interior, as I know you were doing some painted trims.

Not sure if you're thinking of someone else, or my original order which was GR with painted trim on the inside. My GTS delivery pics are here.

Lovely car but I prefer it without the black pieces. I think it breaks up the lines of the car too much.

Hmm, maybe. I thought you added some painted trim items. Still no interior pics there! Gorgous car regardless!

Really? How old is your car? I got an '07 C4S, so widebody and probably gets the worse stone chips... it's however been fine and I don't notice much of a wear on em and they look just fine. Have they change the material from 7.1 to 7.2?

I think it's a function of 2 things:
(1) Color of the car :
Lighter colored cars show the dirt more
(2) How persnickety you are about nearly invisible blemishes
e.g. search for Slicky's other posts

My car is Slate Grey and I found that a lot of the marks on the stone guards actually buff out when I wax it. YMMV.

Hey Gravedgr- I'm experiencing the same thing and I thought it was a problem with extra adhesive or something on the leading edge of the clear fender protectors. Never had the problem on my 997 turbo...? Not sure about the black stone guards though. Seems to break up the naturals lines of the car too much for me, kind of like the Audi R8. But all that matters is if you like it. Great car and it's hard to not like anything about it.

Looks good against the white. Will be curious to see how they will look on the GT Silver. I ordered my GTS in Platinum Silver and was thinking about putting the black stone guards on. I thought it would tie in with the black wheels.

How do you think they'd look on a PRG coupe? Not sure I would like them on a white car but what about the darker green? Just a thought....

Where to order and what's the cost....

Surprisingly, the black stoneguards don't look as good as I thought they would. There seems to be too much black in the hips now. As long as you like it, though.

Personally, I love your car but prefer it without the black stone guards. Too much black with the black wheels.
