Default Upgraded: 997 C4S!

Hello all...well while others talk of 991's and plan to move to the new car I've taken another tact and route. When shopping for my 997.2 about 18 mos ago I had the opportunity to drive a very nicely optioned 997.2 C4S which I passed on and purchased my 997.2 C2S instead. Well recently while visiting my dealer came across a very nice C4S with everything I wanted but was unable to get in my 997.2 C2S and had spent and was spending time/money and effort trying to replicate. So after a few questions and conversations between the parts manager and sales manager; an offer was made, a counter offer was made and in the end I decided to part with my 997.2 C2S for the C4S they had. Biggest issue was options...C4S had NAV AND Sat XM which is imposible to add if you don't purchase the car so equiped I've spend the last 12+ months finding out. Wife listens to SAT radio almost 99% of the time and gets lost without NAV in a heartbeat!

■UNIVERSAL AUDIO INTERFACE[870]Original Price:$440.00
Details: MP3 Player/Auxiliary Audio Input

■INTERIOR COLOR FLOOR MATS[810]Original Price:$140.00
Details: Front Floor Mats/Rear Floor Mats

■SPORT BUCKET SEATS[P03]Original Price:$3125.00
Details: Bucket Seats

■BLUETOOTH[619]Original Price:$695.00
Details: Wireless Cell Phone Hookup

■PORSCHE ACTIVE SUSPENSION MANAGEMENT (PASM) SPORTS SUSPENSION PKG[P17]Original Price:$950.00
Details: Active Suspension System

■SPORT CHRONO PKG PLUS
■PCM NAVIGATION MODULE[672]Original Price:$2110.00
Details: MP3 Player, Hard Disk Drive, Navigation System

■XM RADIO[686]Original Price:$750.00
Details: Satellite Radio

■7-SPEED PORSCHE DOPELKUPPLUNG (PDK) AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION[250]Original Price:$4080.00

■BOSE HIGH END SOUND PKG[680]Original Price:$1440.00
Details: Premium Sound System

■AUTO-DIMMING MIRRORS

In the end, deal made "sense" and I saved some $$ and got all of my previous mods (those who have seen my post on my individualized changes to my Racing Green 997.2 Carrera have seen them) switched over to the new car and a PDK steering wheel with paddles thrown in by the dealer along with an extended CPO warranty 6yrs/100k on the C4S. Only thing left on the table was my Champion PDK Paddles upgrade on my multifxn steering wheel and PSE (no swap over there). But I hear there are other good options to pursue exhaust wise (Tubi, AWE, Borla, Fabspeed) so any thoughts on exhausts for the C4S are welcome?

Anyway I know posts are worthless without pics..so here are a few at the dealer...prior to the car going into the shop for the swap out. Will post more pics after delivery this weekend showing interior swap outs and of course clear side markers. Only question is to keep the OEM Turbo 19" wheels vs my BBS CH-R's or not. Not sure on that one as I don't think the Turbo's do the color justice...may need to sell them if I keep my wheels or go to HRE's or BBS's maybe. Enjoy...Thoughts/comments welcome as always.

Must be an -09 launch car except the color looks more slate than meteor in the pics, at least to my eye. Since you're talking exhaust already, see if you can find someone close by who has Tubi on a 997.2/PDK/SC. That combination is unsurpassed imo. You will not believe the exhaust tunes produced during a hard run in sport plus. On and off throttle.

AWESOME, Rob! The transplanted pieces from your C2S will look good in the C4S.

I am not a fan of he Turbo wheels either. Can you keep the Black wheels from your C2S? Add 15mm or 17mm spacers in the back and you are good to go. They would look good with Meteor Gray.

Eric...oh yes that was part of the deal for sure. They're swapping out all the custom painted parts and upgraded PDK/E-brake...so I'll have pics of that when I pick it up posted.

Swap out for my black wheels were part of the deal originally but ran into snag cause Turbo 19" wheels will NOT fit correctly on the 997 C2S (two wide) so will have to buy rears for the 997 C2S them or sell Turbos for new set of wheels of choice.

both cars are a beauty. Good choice. I have similar options. Love the NAV and XM radio. Not sure if you have the traffic set up but if you dont, get it.

Very nice car. Lots if options for exhaust available. PSE, fabspeed, Sharkwerks, FVD for Pdk,tubi, etc. Depends on your budget, sound that you are looking for. I have Sharkwerks bypass but my advice is go to local track hosting PCA DE events and just ask around to hear it in person. The 997.2 with the center muffler sounds different(quieter) than others in stock form. I think you knew that.

Great deal - two of my favorite 997.2 launch cars.

How do you like the sport buckets?

Also PM'd you with a question if you don't mind. TIA

I'll be curious to hear how you and the wife like the seats after about 6 months.
