I woke up this morning and found a PORSCHE in my garage!
The Trip
I left the house at 5:15 AM Friday morning.
Drove from Greenville, SC to Huntsville, AL in 6 hours and 15 minutes.
Arrived at the airport (rental drop off point) and dealer picked me up in a Black Panamera with Luxor Beige Full Leather. Sweet car!
Went over the car, paperwork, money changed hands, lunch, etc. and left with a huge grin on my face!
2 hours into the return trip, I am at a stop on IH 75. Huge accident somewhere south of and all 3 lanes are blocked. It took 35 minutes to go 4 miles! Since I am not familiar with the area and don't know how far away the accident was from my location, I decided toget off the highway.
New route plotted on secondary roads. Lots of twisty back roads through the hills of northern Georgia. Drive through intermittent rain the last hour ot the trip.
Got home at 10:30 PM. Without the delay and re-route, it should have been 8:30.
Long day and I was very tired but happy.
Initial impressions of the car
What's not to like?
Shifting is smoother than my 2004 C2. To be fair, I had installed the B&N short shifter on the '04, so it is not a straight up comparison.
The bi-xenon lights really "light up the night". I had forgotten how bright they were. Also had them on my '04.
The engine revs more freely than the 996 engine did.
Played with the Navi system. I had taken my Tom Tom with me. The Tom Tom gives a little earlier verbal notification than the Navi. The Navi also calculated a different "re-route" than the Tom Tom.
Overall, love the car! The Sharkwerks By-Pass pipes arrived on Thursday, so they will go on he car this weekend.
Attached are a couple of "dealer" pics. Clear side markers will be added. I will get a few of my own pics to post in the next couple of days.
P.S. - Also working on a new Sig picture.

Nice car. Thanks for sharing your story. Wearing my Sharkwerks T shirt for a DE event today. Should get into the 80s. How rare is that up here in the NW?
