What did you do to your 997 today?
Oh please keep me posted on this color change and new roof! Do you have a thread going somewhere you will be sharing updates?

Oil change here too. Should have done it last week when it was cooler. 90 degrees in a hot garage is never fun now matter how simple the job (plus I did 3 other cars ... 1 more to go).
I gotta do brake fluid this year too. Ugh. Why did i not do all of this in the winter.

Today I picked up my new/used 997.2 for 60k service from a Porsche dealer (was cheaper than independent, go figure). Which includes PDK fluid change, Spark plugs, serpentine belt along with tensioner assembly, along all other service needs. I got the car with not much info on its service history so I thought it would be best to sort her internals out first before I do non essential mods. But not long enough after, as soon as she got home the steering wheel got replaced (thanks Ebay) also installed a full set of LEDs. Next week are bc coil-overs that I'm installing myself, someone want to help me out? :-)
OEM toggle steering wheel replaced with alcantara and proper paddle shifters
LED's are in.

let me know when you get to the door sills. I bought premade stitched leather but the passenger side doesn’t fit real well. Curious to see if anyone can figure out how to do that recess professionally.

I like the alacantara visors very much. I did the door sills in leather and they came out pretty good, fits with no issues. If your having fitment issues something is not right with the way the leather was cut or placed on the sill.
Shows passenger side inner door pocket covered in full thickness leather. Fits without issues, same as before covering in leather.
Here you are looking directly down into the pocket. I put a verticle reinforcement piece and the leather goes to the bottom rubber all around.

I finally got my 997.1 back from the shop yesterday after the longest stereo install in history. It turns out that when the previous owner removed the factory head unit, they also yanked out all of the plugs, a lot of wiring, and the Bose Amp. After buying the PCCM+, sourcing a Bose amp, a used subwoofer, and a rear view camera, the great team at Bennett Motor Werks got everything wired up and working great. While they had the center console out, I decided to have that painted to match the car. I also figured that since they were wating for parts, they could install the new Smarttop controller. Throw in some fresh oil and I'm good to go.

I started hearing a squealing sound and figured it was the pulleys. I ordered all 3 pulleys as well as the oil pressure sensor. Took the morning to do the install.
Turns out the lower pulley was bad, spinning like a skateboard wheel, the alternator pulley was actually OK, and the tensioner pulley was grinding some. After reading about folks having issues with the tensioner pulley, I was going to save it for my independent. But I decided what the hell lemme give it a shot. Needless to say all 3 pulleys were changed. Surprisingly, the oil pressure sensor was a PITA the break loose. I needed a pipe on the ratchet. My oil pressure gauge is zero when the key is on now.

Backup cam stopped working about a week ago, so I went ahead and replaced old Alpine backup cam with NATIKA camera from Amazon

Where was the thread about oil drain plug values?
I had been using 38ft-lbfor over a decade on the 997, close to a decade on the 981 with zero issues (and no issues on a 987) Listened to the forum and went down closer to 25 and the 981 leaked. 997 doesn’t look to be leaking but I cinched it up a tad more to be sure.
mind you it doesn’t take much to look like an oil slick on an epoxy floor .... but still ....back to 38 for me.

Washed it for maybe the last time? Car ADD is acting up again after 14 months but also not in a rush. Got my eye on a few other cars but that's always the case. Like a Sapphire Blue 981 Boxster^^^^
