What did you do to your 997 today?
Pro
😂 Fair enough! I don’t want to trash it because it was JUST parade laps, but it kinda sucked. There were too many cars to actually get up to any amount of speed to enjoy it. The last time I did it in May there were waaaay fewer cars and you could actually get some good driving. I need to just pony up and do the full blown HPDE one of these days.

Suspension refresh with new Powerflex polybushed TCAs, new Bilstein B4s, Fast-road Geo
Thought about Coilovers, but B4 Bilsteins with DSC Controller works so well (90% road / 10% track use). Also, 20000km Service Intervals for KW and Ohlins put me off
Front-end now feels solid, really planted.

Got around to installing my FVD/M&M Race end exhaust system with 100 cell Cats/Resonators. Had M&M make this system with 63.5mm piping vs 70, and had them create a different post resonator connection to run my exhaust tips vs turn downs!
System sounds amazing.
May have been one of the easiest installs ever! This system’s craftsmanship is outstanding. Fits like a glove.

@EVOMMM Here’s a link for the base system. https://www.fvd.net/us-en/RES9971510...down-tips.html
You'll want to reach out to Rhonda at FVD Brombacher in Florida. If you call the number on the website, it should direct you right to her.
They work directly with M&M Exhaust in Germany and can tailor the system to your likings. It’ll be a little more money for the custom setup, and I had about a 6-8 week wait time, but it is worth every penny. There’s nothing on the market quite like this setup.
I’ll be adding some sound clips this spring.

@Dubber These are actually FVD tips-had these for awhile and reinstalled them. Interestingly enough- they are almost identical to the Soul tips- I had a set of the Soul tips when I was running the Soul Muffler delete pipes. Back on the prior 996- I had another set of Carbon tips from Top Gear UK that were also extremely similar to both FVD and Soul.
When having this system built, you just have to request the post resonator pipes to be made to accept the size of a factory Carrera S tip- and these will work with just about any aftermarket or stock S sized exhaust tip.
@J.Tan There is a very small amount of drone around 2.2k-2.4k- weirdly after that, the resonator seems to filter a ton of the bassy drone out. My muffler deletes and old X pipe setup with the 200 cell cats had a significant heavier drone from 2.4k-3.4k—I’m shocked how well this system does the job.
Also, it tones down the overall loudness throughout the entire range, vs running other 200 cell X pipes and full muffler deletes.
Old setup with the Speedtech 200 cell X pipe, Speedtech headers and the Soul Muffler deletes were quite a bit louder at idle, through redline. For my use- primarily as a street car- I find this as the happy middle ground (for me personally).
Stored the car after my install last evening-for winter up North here (if we ever get it this year) I’ll be adding interior and exterior sound clips in the spring. I’ll send links to connect you to them on YouTube.
Hopes this helps anyone trying to get an idea of how this setup is.
