Had it and I took it off. For tack days blue tape is cheap. Otherwise its a car, paint is paint and a chip or two Wont make it go slower.

I just spent about $2400 repainting the front of my car. After 30 days I had my dealer, POV, install a clear bra. It makes sense to me.

I would never consider a clear bra. Leave the car alone for God's sake...chips happen and they don't bother me in the least! I've never seen one I like either!

Personally I prefer double-Ds with no bra at all, but a clear one would be my second choice. Or at least lacy and see-through, with a matching thong

i have clear bra and based on how much dirt i take off from it at the end of each season my paint would probably be totally wrecked by now.
it is just bad paint, may be a custom paint job would stay on better than stock paint but i do not know. i was amazed when i saw ho paint chips off my doors from a slightest contact with garage wall. lexus was parked in the same spot forever and it is like new, 997 has a lot of scuff on door edge by now. it is just the way it is.

I have both clear bra 3M and Clearplex for the windscreen and am glad to have both. A truck threw a rock that skipped on the clear bra to the windshield that would have spidered the windshield for sure. Semi going other direction on two lane highway on a Porsche tour event in Eastern Washington in May.

For my 991 would get front wrap and Clearplex from Metropolitan in Seattle area.

Wife has 05 Boxster w/o bra. She likes the freedom but has TNTC chips. Would need repainting to fix but not worth it at this time. She just loves to drive it and go topless when temps here in the PNW allow.

Its a no brainer:

Go for it:

1) If your car is gonna be a keeper.
2) Wince everytime you see the rock chips.
3) Have the patience and desire for upkeep of the paint protection film.

Don't go for it:

1) If you don't have a good installer in your area.
2) Don't want to spend for a full front of the car (including full hood) install.
3) Respraying does not bother your psyche in 5 years or more.

I went for it on all my cars....actually over the top (no pun intended) for
my C4S.

I think it depends on how much and where you drive. I only drive 13 miles each way to work in generally smooth, non congested areas. Also, I leave really early in the AM so not a lot of cars on the road. Not a lot of highway driving either. I just keep my distance and so far, been ok. So no bra.

Material is very important. Just as important would be the installer(s). In this industry, there has been a dramatic turnover rate, which means many installers are fairly new....

Your choices are clear bra or road rash, DD or not. I've got it on my car and wouldn't be without it. Like it or not, it looks a good deal better than chipped paint IMO. If it yellows I'll have it replaced.

I put it on all my cars. Not only does it save you from rock chips, but can save your paint from a minor fender bender. I had a lady in a Camry back up into me at a gas station and strike my front bumper on my Range Rover. Her car ripped the clear bra and I was sure she damaged the paint underneath. My auto body guy told me it was the first insurance repair claim where he didn't have to do any work. The clear bra was removed and no damage to the paint on the number. They had the clear bra installer come out and replace the bra. I guess the lady who it me that it only cost her insurance $500 and she wasn't hit for a major accident.
