track day question
Hey all,
So I got bored of reading the reliability thread that is now nine pages so figured I would ask a question.
I have been running a few track days on p zero's, just moved to the corsas. I check temps and I focus more on lines than speed.
I have been noticing that by the ties run my turn in's are faster but in control. However, I can feel the rears sliding a bit through. It's not out of control and seems to help through the turns but I feel like I am either doing something wrong or not fully aware of the proper feel.
Oh the car is a 997.2 s
Thanks

I've got a 997.2 S and am running on Corsa's as well - welcome to the club.
Not exactly sure what your question is, but could be that you have gained more confidence by your third run - I've been tracking for almost 10 years and find I get faster throughout the day, even on tracks I know well. Could also be that your tires are fully warmed up by then?
What tracks are you running, what group do you run in at and how long are your sessions?

Have you been driving with an instructor? Have you learned about things like trail braking and throttle-off oversteer? Do you feel this happening at every corner, or just one or two? From your comments it doesn't appear that you fully understand the dynamics of what's going on, so I'd strongly recommend you spend some time with an experienced instructor who can analyze what's happening and then help you understand and get a handle on these things.

What you're describing could be an indication that you're learning some of the subtleties of car control -- or that you're skating at the edge of a spinout (or worse).

Thanks all for the comments.
In short I am watching psi, have had an instructor and now run in an intermediate group. I don't think its out of control spin but I just wanted to make sure that a little sliding in the back is ok. It's basically like the rear slides a bit faster, you compensate, turn in basically like driving a rear wheel truck on ice, and then push through the turn and gas.
I know when I push it and its a different feel. From the comments above I will continue to feel it out but I don't think a bit of contrived drift is actually driving wrong.
Thanks.
