Smile Lifter noise from 2008 911 S engine

I am curious about why a lifter would be "sticky" and otherwise noisy?
This engine and car have only 19,400 miles. The car was purchased new, by me, in early 2008. I have changed the oil regularly. I have not raced the car or run it beyond its capabilities.

Two Tech Advisers at the Porsche dealer listened to it. It got quieter as the engine ran longer and warmed up. It seemed, based on this simple information that this may be the cause.

Are you certain that the noise is a lifter?

I'm not sure what "please reply" means, but if you're asking my take on your noise I'd be very reluctant to give you an opinion without hearing it in person. I've just been through a lengthy rundown of valve train stuff on a much older engine than yours (05, M96) and it became painfully clear that ticking noises that are at a frequency that suggests lifters can also be other valve train components. I say that because the diagnosis of my issue involved actually accessing the valve train/lifters to investigate all of the mutually connected bits. I would guess that a professional diagnosis is going to be the best way to go, especially if you're unsure.

Please don't draw any connection/conclusion between my problem and yours. I was just wondering if you had confirmed that your noise was indeed a lifter noise. Sorry for any confusion.

It's not uncommon, especially if the vehicle hasn't been ran for many days.

3-4 years ago? When I first got my 2003 with 32kmi on it. One valve took longer to pump up when cold, especially after it sat for a few days. Now that the car has been driven more and had a few oil changes they all pump up before the car is up to temp.
