New HREs Finally Mounted!
Hey guys,
Today I got my new wheels mounted!! I love them
I know there're not everyone's cup of tea but I especially like them with the BT
color and the natural brown interior. Please forgive the pics as it was raining and had to take them while dodging raindrops!
Let me know what you think!
Thanks.
Tom

I think they look great. You have a great color combination on your car.

Excellent Tom! Those look great! Retro on a .2 looks cool! Consider adding some matte black stone guards in the rear fenders ala GTS to complete the retro look... easy to remove.
I am a fan of branding, but for this, I would change to porsche crests in those centers...
Its not a hard project, assuming they have the same diameter as the HRE ones.
Here is my writeup. Replace black matte with this greeny grey color, go to a shop and make it in spray form... Remember to spray a coat of flat or satin varnish, it will help longevity... Really easy project Tom!
Here goes
Take the center caps off, and lightly sand them with 600 grit sand paper (see pic with 2 caps, top one is sanded, so dont expect to see too much difference. Be careful dont touch the crest, the chrome is easy to scratch).
Carefully mask the P crest with flexible tape (so you can bend it around the curves, cut corners carefully with a blade).
Buy can of matte finish black paint and matte varnish.
Spray the caps from all angles from a distance of at least 30-40 centimeters and allow to dry for a couple of hours.
Then spray the varnish, or else it is likely that the color will scratch off. If you have patience, wait 2 more hours and spray another coat.
See below for visual aids.

You are just too kind Nick! Thank you. Beautiful job with the centers although I do lean to the HREs.
I'm still considering the stone guards....yours look fabulous! I'm not sure the black on my TB car might be a bit ostentatious (sp?)
All the best,
Tom

Man....so many kind and generous responses....Thanks so much!
I really love the look and I'm glad some others see it the same. Here are a few more pics I took on a sunny early evening at my sister's house with the top down.
Here's one with my nephew in the driver's seat!
And some others:
Best,
Tom

Well, to depict this in a plain photoshop is not easy, but here is a stab. I used black initially but it will never be pure black, but as black as the tires, as it is matte, so gave it a grey tint.
You can trace the clears that are on the car, and make a template with newspaper, buy a sheet of 3M car wrap membrane and experiment. Thats what I did and paid 15 euro total for mine! Buying factory blacks and then clears to replace if you dont like will run like $100-150 from suncoast with shipping.
I am all for experimenting so give it a shot!
