Unhappy air bag fault... help!

Hello all, I went through some posts and could not find my answer. So I need to drop a post.

I have an '06 Carrera 4 (997.1).

Recently, my air bag light went on. I took it to my local indy who found the plug on the bottom of the passenger seat unplugged.

He plugged it in, cleared the fault and he told me that the light came back on, then went off and then after about 10 minutes it came back again and just stayed on.

He has an older version of the PIWIS tool and he told me that what he could do is limited.

The fault code that he got was 5A80 - Passenger's front sensor no communication

He advised me that he jiggled all the connections and even opened up the plug to see if everything was making contact but he could not find any problems and that I should go to the dealership who would have the latest PIWIS.

Has anyone had this experience before or has any input on this? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the post 'Battery 'Drain...'. There's mention of a low voltage problem causing the airbag light to come on.
My 06 had the problem with the crimped wiring harness that caused the battery to repeatedly drain. Replaced under warrenty. Problem solved.

There can be an issue with the sensors on the bottom of the Passenger Seat failing. That may be your problem.
