Boo Lala--three cars here as well--but so easy to chose the 911!

38 yrs of continued P ownership and 15.5k posts on Rennlist. I think we need to give Dan a pin. Or a gold watch-where's Riley?

If these things weren't so much fun to drive I would be getting some real work done!

Congrats Dan! Assuming you would stay in the Porsche family, what would be your next car to replace this one? A new 991 or a low mileage 997.2???

No replacement, but could use another with more room, like a Panamera.

So your keeping it till either you or the car kicks?? lol
Don't leave out the Cayenne! The V6 is for the birds, but I've owned both new 05' S and 09' S and really enjoyed them.

Congrats.

BTW. Is your car pictured on the wikipedia site covering the 997? Same color, natural brown seats, and PCCBs.

I just turned 85,000 miles on my 06 C4 yesterday and couldn't be happier. I'm going to store it for the winter to keep the miles down. I've done oil changes every 8 to 10,000 miles, put on 2 sets of front brakes, installed Tubi exhaust, and replaced the TPMS sensors. That's it!!! The car has been fabulous. The only reason why I'm getting rid of it is because I'm finally ready for 997TT.

That's it. I think there are about 4 blue turquoise 997s now in the USA--mine, and one in New Jersey (Tom), another in New York, and one in the Bay area (SF) that is a GTS coupe. I suspect mine is the only one with PCCBs. (I contribute to Wikipedia...)

Nice write-up! Just wondering how much oil did you add per 1k miles? Is it 1 qt or more?

I'm averaging 1 quart per 1000 miles--just like from day one.

I truly enjoy reading your posts! I also just reached 70k on my 06 Cab (most of the miles driven in the last 3 years).

Water pump, plugs, brake fluid flushes, brake pads..

I miss my '94 Speedster and '97 C4S, but love the 997.

Anyway, as a 70k "birthday gift" I would like to send you a free blue color Tank Tongue.
Please PM me your address.

Congrats again.

Vladimir

Not to threadjack, but I've put 10k on the ODO in 9 months of ownership (@50k now). Only issue was a stuck exhaust valve. The 997 is way cheaper than a therapist and way more fun than all my other vices....

Thumbs up to the OP for great forum contributions and for putting the miles on!
