Default Remove TPMS sensors?

Can you remove the TPMS sensors and install normal valve stems?

I just bought a set of 07 Carrera sport wheels with TPMS sensors for my 05 997.1 which Im pretty sure doesn't have TPMS.

Any pro's con's?

Thanks in advance

I believe, from my experience, that the metal stems are usable without the sensor units. And, I think these high speed rims strongly suggest metal stems vs. rubber.

In fact, if you don't have TPMS installing the wheels with sensors as is will be fine.

I'd just leave them on if I were in this situation.

if the tires are off, sure, go ahead and remove/get regular (porsche) stems. but if you bought wheels with tires are on, no use in paying for extra labor to take out TPMS - just handle it down the road when you get new tires.

Pure you can.
Pro - you don't have to worry 'bout them any more.
Con - constant error code unless you have the dealer to turn off the TPMS monitor in the computer

As a side note...

I have TPMS on my car, and intend on disabling it, due to incessant error codes...just too frustrating, when all I need to do is simply check the tire pressures myself periodically!

New tires all around, so sensors are being removed. any one want t buy them?

I changed the spark plugs - I think I can handle air in the tires.

Thanks for the reassurance!
