Does your spouse/significant other drive your p-car?

yes my wife has, and I welcome it, but ever since I started parking the car under a very narrow lift in my garage, she has been frightened away.

I lent one of my Porsches to my sister years ago and she loved it. Then loaned the turbo to her later. She didn't understand about keeping the revs up. My fiance would be an excellent driver of my 997S but she hasn't wanted to drive it yet. I think she is worried that she would damage it somehow, although she's a great driver and is also a lead-foot.

I taught my wife how to drive manual when we first started dating and we have never owned an automatic. Yes, she drives my car and has gotten more speeding tickets than me. She's also gotten out of more tickets than me.

I taught my wife (when she was a girl friend) to drive a stick in my TR6 many years ago. Later, I taught my daughter to drive a stick in my Corvette C6. They can either one drive the P car, but neither chooses to do so.

Nope, only once.

Nope, she can't drive manual. I wouldn't want her to anyways, it has an aerokit so it's really low, takes a different set of skills to drive one. I'll probably get a PDK Boxster to replace my MT SLK and she can take that whenever she wants but I doubt if she will. She prefers driving big cars like SUV's and minivans.

Never...she is to afraid that she will wreck and I would never live it down. She said she would only drive by herself, I never responded on that conversation and has never been a topic since

My '05 has depreciated $10K over the entire 4 1/2 years I've owned it, and is definitely not dropping $5K/yr at this point, so maybe that accounts for part of why I don't share your attitude entirely I'm not obsessive about it, it is just a car, but OTOH I do take pride in whatever I own and try not to put it in harm's way if I can help it. I do park in the spots next to the shrubs, pull in as close as I can get, to leave as much room between me and the next car as possible.
My wife can drive a stick, she's a good driver with a perfect record, and if tshe had to drive my car in an emergency I wouldn't object. But she's not into driving as a recreational activity, so for her the comfort of her Merc makes it much more desirable to drive than my Pcar. And I gave her that Merc 4 1/2 years ago when I got the Pcar, it was immaculate inside and out despite being 6 years old at the time. Now its dinged in several places, the seat is ripped, and inside it looks like a dumpster. Literally can't find a square inch of seat or carpet that isn't covered with trash, the door pockets are stuffed to overflowing, and I can't lower the seat without hearing things go crunch. And don't even want to talk about the trunk.
