Default Alt Reasons for Owning a Porsche....

No kidding, it is this kind of thing that got me to finally pull the trigger on my first Porsche 14 years ago:

What are some of your alt reasons for buying one?

Peace

Overpriced accessories?

Yeah, really. $750 snow chains convinced you to buy a Porsche??

I agree more with switch911's reasoning.

Actually, I got it as a present for myself for getting my oldest daughter through college, through some very trying circumstances. She even made Dean's list every semester.

My birthday and Christmas are a week apart and every year wife is asking me "what do you want for your birthday & Christmas". So to get her "off my back" about it in 2006, I respond the" two day Porsche Sport Driving School course at Barber Motorsports Park". Lo and behold, the certificate was under the tree that Christmas and I went the in the spring of '07. There was no turning back after that.

This past year I responded "a 2007 - 08 GT3". No such luck this time!

Back in the day, my folks went through 3 Beetles with 6 kids.
Me (#5 and my bro #6) spent our youngest years in the back parcel compartment.
So until I was 6, I sat over top and listened to the drone of an air cooled flat 4.
It's permanently burned into my brain so it just seemed to be a natural progression.
Oh & btw, I'm researching Beetles now.
