Porsche cluthes are not built for launches. So if red light races is where you want to win, need to get a 2009 or newer with PDK - turbo or non turbo. Otherwise your clutch will be toast fairly quickly.
If you want to be fast, this can be done cheaper and easier by loosing weight. So when you get your Porsche, strip out center console, passenger seat, remove side windows, etc etc.
My buddy drives a 997 Turbo that is tuned, puts out 500+ hp, 4 wheel drive and only 2900lb. It is a Lambo and Corvette killer.
Good luck with your quest for HP.
Also, TPC makes a good turbo kit for your 997 for about 10k.

I agree with getting a turbo.. I sold my 996 tt to get the C2S, and I had added hybrid turbos and a chip with exhaust to get 550 hp and wow what a difference over stock turbo. Didn't need that much power and still feel the round headlights are the best. Couldn't get used to the 996 headlights.

If you just want to launch and go fast in a straight line, sell the 997 and get a Corvette or a Viper. If not, learn to drive the car as it is. Most guys, myself included, can't drive these cars to their limits on the track.

I was on a mission to get more hp out of this already perfect automobile. Within a month I spent almost $10,000 on mufflers, x-pipe, headers, air intake, and a tune.
That $10,000 earned me a car that sounds better, thats about it. People will tell you otherwise but the gains are minimal -- don't believe the hype.
Like others have suggested -- get a turbo, or for that matter buy a domestic.

Feel the light steering, hear the mechanical sound of the boxer 6...
Look out over the frog eyes.
It's an experience like no other car.

Buy a different car if that's your strong desire. Maybe a 911 turbo.
A major plus of this car is that it is about as good as it can be as it is, horsepower-wise. Mods with real improvements are not reasonably worth the cost. Enjoy the car as it is, or drive a different car.

Outside of tearing the engine down and balancing, porting, changing cams, re-tuning...this wil be extremely expensive you can bolt on a supercharger but don't think your engine will stay healthy with a bolt on super charger because it won't.
All the bolt on things to a stock engine like exhaust, plenum, intake really honestly don't do much. Like,others have said get the Turbo for power you can feel.

Hha, I just feel exciting about purchasing a 997.
so I will rush to know how to make some improve,
I will keep it original, and drive it in couple months
than I will decide how to make some improve.

It's is really hard to improve on these vehicles, as they are near perfect straight from the factory! Not many driver a can put drive the performance of these stock cars!

Your request is typical of a lot of New-To-Porsche owners.
The 997S was well sorted out by the factory to produce the horsepower it produces. THEY LEFT NO LOW HANGING FRUIT.
For you to get real horsepower additions to that car you have to spend serious money. A friend of mine (before the 997 turbo came out) was just like you--wanted more, and tossed out the money for a supercharger installation. It wound up being a total pain in the rear. Literally. He had to then spend the bucks to have it unmodified.
If you really need the HP, then forget the 997 Carrera and go get the factory turbo version. They are becoming more affordable.

My advice:
Headers are a must.
Mufflers are not a must for power but are for sound.
200 Cell Sport Cat X Pipe will increase power even further and give a great sound, even with stock mufflers.
On the intake side, there are gains, but be careful which one you choose as not all perform. Fabspeed Cold Air kit is a great addition as is our new Y-Pipe Competition Intake.

I come from a 996 turbo with a lot of power. the c2s with just 200 cell cats is a very fast car.
try to make use of that power in the twisty back roads and you will soon realize there really is not a need for extra power.
one thing I do want to do is reduce weight with the basics. a lightweight battery is a great first start and ditch the rear seats if you never use them.
