Replacement Battery
Battery finally gave out on my 2009 997.2 C4S. Called the dealership to order a new one and was told there were two variants, a 70A and 80A version. Anyone know the correct one / part number, or if there's a superior battery for equal price? Thanks.

Or if Walmart is out the Sams Club version which I believe is the same battery with a different label is the Energizer H7

I bought Exide AGM, size H7. Four year warranty. Do the install yourself. Dealer will stick you with an outrageous "corking fee". Battery was $230. AGM's supposedly do better with longer periods without charging and higher discharges than flooded cells. That's why most cars with stop/start systems come with AGM.

Porsche OEM batteries are junk. I've never had one last more than 2 or 3 years. I currently have an Interstate battery (don't happen to have the model type or number) which is physically bigger than the OEM one, but it fits fine. I'm sure there are others that are good, too. Almost anything is better than the stock battery.

Porsche OE batteries are just fine. The key to a long life (since most Porsches are driven so few miles) is the regular use of a battery maintainer. Plug in when not driven. Your OE batter will last more than 5 years.

Like everything else, maintain it and it should last. What gets me is that increase in price when a Porsche label is applied.
Here in Ontario, Interstate battery H7 ......$ 250.00 Dealer new battery ........$ 305.00 plus taxes
