Hard to Add iPod or Aux Inputs?
I am on the cusp of buying a 997.2 (either 2010, 11, or 12). Looks like the Universal Audio Interface did not come standard, and only about half of my current finalists have it. Is it terribly difficult/expensive to add in an auxiliary input on a 997.2? I care less about iPod integration with the touch screen than I do about just being able to listen to either my iPod or my phone (Spotify, Pandora, etc.).

It's straight forward to add the universal audio interface after the fact. I certainly would not let that sway you on a car. The OEM kit sells for around $400 at Suncoast and your dealer will charge you about $300 labor to put it in, or if you are handy you can install and then take to the dealer to have them code it.

I had it installed on my 997.1 C2S last month, and it works great with either iPod or iPhone. I have Pandora radio on the iPhone to add even more music than what is in my iTunes library.
Annapolis P dealer ordered kit and installed for $750 total, but given the alternatives, I am happy with it.

If you're going to spend that much for a line in unit it might be worth considering the phone/Bluetooth integration options from Dension or Viseeo?

I agree with nzskater, as it is an overly expensive way to just get a plug in option for an iPhone.
But the quote for a full-blown system conversion to a Kenwood unit with all the integration and bells & whistles was about $3,500...and that audio company, even as highly recommended as it was, still could not guarantee it would not mess with the other car systems. I am reluctant to act when someone says "It should work just fine." In my experience, it hardly ever does when the "should" word is used.
Good luck with whatever you decide. I really like Pandora radio through my iPhone, BTW, way better music selection than Sirius/XM.

My .1 is an '05. Have done a lot of reading on our site, but still am confused about all the possible ways to go to enable bluetooth for phone & music. Even an aux cable solution would be better than stock. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks...
