Default Porsche getting crazy with their emblems?

Just a conversation for amusement since this struck me as just plain wacky:

I got an ad via email from Suncoast with this photo emblazoned at the top. Is it just me or is Porsche going off the deep end here with this 21 character emblem? Surely they could drop some parts of this.. especially the PORSCHE and maybe just use either 911 or Carrera but not both. Heck, I shorted mine to just 911S just a few months ago.

I am sure that many see Porsche these days as a really neat SUV manufacturer so I guess they need to put their name on the 911 now. And for those that might ask, what's a 911?.... well, you know.... it's that sports car with the engine in the back. They make sports cars?......with the engine in the back??

And not just on the 911, I think all models have seen a bit of this wackiness. Does marketing really believe they need this level of brand/product/version/config distinction in the market? I didn't check but maybe now there is a charge to de-badge a new car, sneaky?

I have a prejudice about few or no emblems. Especially those specifying engine etc

Probably not applicable for Porsches but I think it is interesting.

Where I live cars that are completely clean from emblems are either:
-Low spec cars with no options and cheapest engine but the owner don't want to show it.
-highly spec car with lots of extras but the owner likes s clean car and want to be discrete.

Yes I'm a bit digital here but I see so many cars being like this. The former category are also the ones buying all the face lift parts even if they are uglier just to make it look like the latest model year.

However I agree on the 26 letters. Simply too much.

Hasn't Porsche been putting large letters/decals all over their cars since the 60's. The gt3's to name recent. I have never been a fan of numerous or large badges/decals. But this is not new from Stuttgart. Just different.

I've thought about this and the reality is most people don't know a 'Carrera' is a 911. Just yesterday a guy is taking to me about my C4S that is parked right beside us; and he says "That's a 911?" So I think they are trying to get people to know what model is what. If the Carrera in that photo is dropped, then whats left is "911 4 GTS" which looks like gibberish to most. All I can say is order the car with 911 on the back and call it a day. Too much coconut.

I'm a Benz guy too, so I read Mercedes Enthusiast once in a while. They did a feature in a recent issue where a guy with a heavily modified Kleeman E63 (the original 6.2L but with a supercharger) removed the model and AMG emblems and added E220 CDI badges. The four tailpipes is a dead giveaway, but the guy has a sense of humor at least - the modified car made 700hp or something like that.
