rear seat delete

the kit just plugs holes, you need to buy the GT3/2 rear carpet and then the GT3/2 Cpillar trim, that converts the rear to GT 3/2 no seats, you can remove all the seat belt and seat mechanism

Pretty expensive...I'd say just leave them in.

Lazy, mostly. And didn't want to bother with the seatbelt removal, and dealing with those holes. But might try OKB's suggestion above. Have already requested a price from Sunset.

The original RS America MY93 had no rear seats but instead and a flat area with a couple of small compartments below it. It made the entire back useless. You couldn't get your hands inside the compartments unless you flipped the seat back forward. And anything you put in the flat area slid all over the place.
So in MY94 they put the back seats back in. They are excellent for holding bags of groceries when shopping, they are excellent for lots of other small packages (and small people) over night luggage, cameras (that wouldn't fit in the compartments), and the fold down seat backs still give you a place for pet carriers when needed.
But there is always someone out there trying sell things you don't really need...and charge you extra for giving you less.

I was debating whether having the rear seats in was better in terms of holding things and keeping stuff from moving around vs removing the seats.
Once I paint my seat backs my biggest fear will be things bashing up against said seat backs.
It was just one of those idea to try and see which way I liked it but certainly not for $500. The carpet solution is intriguing with maybe some kinda of netting the the Cayman has.

I really want to be able to use that space for things, so I made a set of straps that keep things from moving around, even at 997 speeds.
