Those thieves are idiots.

I would have left the wheels and taken the PCCBs. Easily worth at least three times the street price of the wheels, right?

Had exactly the same question. Why not the rotors? Still good that its "only" the wheels. And I have seen cases where they don't even bother to put things under the car but just leave it standing with the rotors directly on the ground.

At least they left it on blocks.
At my honda dealer, they dropped the car and it was a right off.
Went outside about a year ago, neighbors M5 was on milk crates.
No smashed window to get the wheel key. Or the car did not have wheel locks?

That's brutal? The rear rotors will probably have to be replaced now, won't they?

I have PCCB and worry about a little pebble hitting them, let alone the weight of an entire car.

My GP had the wheels/tires taken from his car a few weeks ago, during the day, while parked on the ground floor of his medical office building, during regular business hours with cars passing by pretty much every few minutes. Left it like this one, on crappy blocks. Another doc saw the guy as he was stealing the wheels, but the cops took their time responding, allowing for a safe getway.

Next step. Let hillbilly BOB the town truck driver, D_ R_ A_ G_ it onto his flat bed.
Hopefully the owner gets new wheels delivered to the location and installed there.
Then taken to the dealership for further inspection.

Think about this for a moment. That is a 991 Turbo S that had 20 inch Center Locks. First, you need special equipment and second, there is not much of a market for 20 inch CLs. Whoever stole the wheels, based on the fact that they left the rotors, probably did not do it randomly. No, I'd say this was a planned theft with a buyer for the specific wheels in hand.

That's a great point, there is very little chance of moving those wheels unnoticed on the open market.

Maybe they were taken out of revenge?

No CLs. 5 rim lug bolts (left back on the ground).

And it appears the car is sitting on the bottom of the engine (not good) and not on the rear PCCB discs.
