I'm eager to hear what these new turbo-based Carreras will sound like.

I prefer the 991 gts/carrera S (6mt) and 997.2 CarreraS/GTS 6MT more based on looks and NA engine alone.

I would also note I still think it looks awesome I am just disgusted automakers are ok with "going green" by increasing fuel economy by 15% not delivering what the customer wants, but what corrupt politicians want. **** a turbo if I wanted that i'd own a 997.1 Turbo. Or i'd own a WRX STI or something. Some cars are cool with turbos, for others it takes away from what they are. GT3 better stay NA forever, fight this stupid *** government regulation please automakers. Or eventually you will not exist; we will be sitting in 6,000 lb electric sedans and falling asleep cuz it's driving for us; driving an old NA 911 will be illegal one day.

-Off my soapbox.

Looks like a regular NB 991 with a slightly different tailpipe/lower bumper configuration and a BBQ grill option on the decklid. Not a fan.

I'm sure that ugly rear end is just for "testing purposes" as to not totally give away what the car will really look like once it's finally released. Porsche is smarter than that as this BBQ grill that is pictured is H-I-D-E-O-U-S! Perhaps they will revive the cool looking twin grill?

As for the cars all getting turbos, I am for it. Why not? Faster, lighter, better on gas, and although I am not big on modding cars anymore, I'm sure that the fans of aftermarket engine mods will be pleased as doing any engine mod on a n/a car is futile.

I wonder what Porsche has in mind for for the actual 911 Turbo... Will that be the only "wide body" available with some outrageous engine making 650 bhp? or will the Turbo just be discontinued after the 991?

We shall see.

The back to me looks like the mash-up of the new Mustang (the flat surface of the taillights....really look for it), the new Audi TT for you hairdressers or metrosexuals, and a bit of the Vanquish as well. As for modding the new turbo motor(s), I bet its software is going to be pretty locked up tight and if you do anything you will get that special flag that all Audis get now when when it senses something new and different, that kills your warranty. You can go play on the Ford site and configure the GT350 now.

In the article, the longitudinal slat Bar-B-Que grill is mentioned, as if they were quite proud...
