Giving your car a name is a strong tradition around here, so I wanted to find out what people have named their 997's, and why.

I'll start. Scarlett O'Cara is my '06 Carrera S (Carmon Red Metallic/black). I have a thing for feisty, Southern redheads.

I have an 86 Targa named Mightymouse and a 997.2 that doesn't have a name yet. My wife suggest Alfred.

Mine is Rocinante. If you aren't familiar with the classic, Don Quixote, the hilarious nature of that name may be lost.

Uncle Mike. Someone gave it that name so I kept it. LOL. Basically from the scene in Bad Boys when Will Smith pulls up to Martin's house in the morning in his Turbo 3.6, walks in the house and says, "Uncle Mike's in the house". Rest is history. LOL

The only time I've referred to my car as something other than ''the Porsche'' is when I've called it my date.

My white 997.2 is called Moby, as in the great white whale. He also has a bit of a black and white Orca thing going on white body, black wheels, and a WA state endangered species Orca license plate. Only thing he's missing is a whale tail to compete the story.

All our cars have names even the one that hasn't arrived yet!

I don't name my newer stuff, typically. Not sure why. Just feels right on an older car.

Portia. All configs of it were taken on the state vanity plate register, so either there are a lot of Shakespeare lovers, DiRossi lovers, or a lot of other p-cars by that name

When my wife heard Porsches were nicknamed "P-cars," she named hers Penelope. Which has since been shortened to Penny.
