Default How to use einszett Klima-Cleaner in 997.2??

I'm getting that musty barnyard smell from my A/C system, so bought a can of Klima-Cleaner online, I've used it before in various other cars. Back at that time, the instructions were to apply via the center vents.

However, now the instructions on the can seem to have changed. Now it says to apply through the blower fan air duct or through the evaporator drain (this is from the instructions for the product):

"4. Remove pollen air filter if present.
(...)
6. Remove the blower fan to access the air duct which leads to the evaporator core. Or, if possible, insert tube through fins of fan. Insert tube as far as possible to reach the evaporator."

So, I went in the frunk and got the air filter off, but the fan is deep inside there... Any other way to access the A/C evaporator from anyone who has used this before?

THANKS!!

I used this product on my Cayenne by removing the particle filter and spraying directly onto the evaporator. It worked very well. However in the Cayenne the particle filter is directly adjacent to the evaporator, so you can apply the spray right where you need it.

Assuming my interpretation of the PET Diagram for the 997.2 is correct:
It looks like the evaporator (B) is far away from the where the particle filter is installed, which is just above point (A).

Interested too, but the part your showing is not the Evan but the heater core. If you have acces to the pet try to look for evaprator.

I found these two pictures online (thanks Google Image Search!) - and they both show the evaporator (and heater core) are somewhat far away from the fresh air intake. The first diagram I've attached seems to show that the centre vents might still be the best place for the foam to go.

Thanks so much for the image research, and posting your findings. Most helpful. Type 2

It seems like the blower motor would be the best way. Remove the blower motor and the evap should be visible through that hole. This seems to be from the pictures

Good find!

Here is the PET with the part numbers - it is definitely not as clear as what you provided.

I'm starting to have a similar smell. With my previous cars, I used to spray Lysol through the fresh air intake.

I'd turn the the system on to high, open the vents and spray away into the intake. It seemed to work.

I'm sure this foam is better as I know the dealer uses something similar. So, is there a way to spray this stuff without removing anything? The pics and diagrams are a little foreign to me. Is the blower motor easy to remove?

I used the Klima Cleaner bomb which cured 98% of my problem. I’m just going after the last 2%. You just set it on the floor, press the button and wait.

Check it:
