Nope... short of being able to install a non-US configuration. US lawyers/laws have required we get warning stickers on everything from don't toss the old spray can in the fireplace to not letting babies play with plastic bags. This is the one for don't blindly follow the nav system - because we are Murika and sue others because we do stupid stuff.

Dasms- I drive with the nav screen all the time. Every time I start the car a screen comes up on the lcd about safe operation of the vehicle while using nav blah blah blah and it stays on until I press confirm. That's what I'm talking about.

If you turn on the map every time you start the car, why didn't you say so? So yes, you have to confirm you're not an idiot so says the NHTSA. But why on earth do you need to turn on the map every time you drive to school, work, grocery store

I wonder if the Durametric can disable this via one of the region configurators.... hmmmm....
The Durametric has a bunch of bits to flip for different regions of the world among other cryptic soft switches.... of course that may also trigger something unwanted such as expectations for cold or hot regions, or different gas formulations. But I dunno........

Very annoying indeed. On my BMW, I was able to find a guy who "coded" the car which allowed him to add/eliminate several built-in features... and yes, the navigation warning notice was one of the first things to go!
