997.2 Cup Flares
SOLD
I purchased these 997.2 Cup Flares from Rhonda of FVD about a month ago, but decided to go a different route. They are BNIB and still in their wrappings.

I apologize if the below pictures are not authorized and will take them down if needed. Pictures of flares on members' cars.

Will these fit a 997.1 gt3? I assume they come primed?

i don't think cutting fenders is mandatory. It's an option if you want to stuff larger amounts of rubber under there but not necessary to run the flares if you're just looking for the aesthetic approach.

If the stock fenders isn't cut (or replace with .2 Cup fenders) then there will be an "under hanging" behind the .2 Cup flares, which will defeat the purpose of having flares to clear larger wheel and tires.

^^^ Just read through your fender flare install. What an ordeal. Great work and big ***** to cut into the fender like that.
What are the flares that are on the .2RS. They obviously aren't cup flares and can those be attached to a non RS without cutting?

The Cup flares are like 2" wide. The RS street car flares are closer to 1" wide. The RS street cars use the same fenders as Cup which is pre-cut from the factory. I figured if I was going through all that effort might as well go for the 2" flares.

In the past I would tell people to use RS fenders with the RS flares to get the clearance but most people just stick on the street flares for looks so they wouldn’t do it properly.
You ended up using 265/30R19 tires. I use that with the RS flares, have been on this setup since 2012. With the Cup flares you should be able to go at least to a 285 or 295 width, in a 25 height? Also, did you try to compensate for scrub radius by lengthening the LCA 5-10mm? I ended up just using the OE 5mm spacers on the front, using my 9x19 RS98 wheels, which gave me inside fender/rad support clearance but I think didn’t help scrub radius or tramlining.

This pic is of Cup flare, 265/35-19 Hoosier R7 on Forgeline 19x9.0 ET50 wheel. I think GT3R spec flare would be better for 285+ tires. Yes, I did add 3mm of LCA shims.

You can look at my build thread as I show a lot of the flare install and fender install as I used cup fenders.
