Wow. Just wow. What the heck IS this car, this 997.2 RS that I picked up just over a month ago? Already logged 2000+ kms up in the hills and canyons of the local coastal mountains.

I have never driven such a compulsive, more motivated, more beautifully obnoxious, ready to instantly party, Porsche than this. I feel that I'm dating Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain's girlfriend, that's ready to party, to crack out the Jack Daniels and other abusive substances at any hour of the day or night. Nutty!

Anyone else feel this way? Yeesh...

Not quite sure what I've gotten into. Will I survive or end up in jail?

That sad part about these cars is that it pushes the bar so high that everything else next to it seems meehh. .. I drove the 570S and was like ... "it's aight.."

They definitely want to be pushed hard; and tempt you to do so at every turn. They can seem clunky cruising but perfect when getting on it.

I would 100% agree with your statement. At slow speeds, it's like driving a tractor. It's all stiff, noisy etc... But give it some gas and it instantly jumps into action, tempting you at every turn. It's nutty! You feel it could bite you in the leg at any moment.

I wouldn't say it scares me so much (IMO it doesn't really have the power for that), as it demands respect and I drive it very, very awake and full concentration. Totally different driving experience than the mid-engined Spyders I've come out of.

get a SW center muffler delete and the smile you will have over 3,500 RPM will hurt your face!!!! Intoxicating music from the motor

You know, Tim, I first saw the 991 Speedster in the flesh at the New York Auto Show last spring. I swear IF I could have gotten an allocation I would be driving one. Stunning. I went back for multiple views. I have yet to hear one start up let alone drive one. Is it as much of an animal as the 7.2 RS? I would have expected it to be somewhat tamer, more set up for touring etc...

Let's get together some time when you have some time. I'd love to see it. There are a couple other RS owners on this forum that own one and say it's the bomb. Congrats!
