LWFW Chatter, how much is too much?
So my .1 RS and it's single mass flywheel has some characteristics that I'm wondering if they are normal or is it time for clutch.
Cold engine: sound is barely noticeable.
Warm/Hot engine: its loud and nice
Letting clutch out and if I bog a wee bit, it rattles.
Bites great and clutch pedal is perfect. Same movement as my old .1 non RS stock clutch.
All normal?
Price to change out to a 4.0 setup, including labor?
Is this upgrade something an experienced DIY'er car pull off with a quick jack.
Thanks in advance and Happy Labor Day.

Mine sounds like a bag of rocks. It’s fantastically loud. Cup car cables for the extra nvh win

The 4.0 pressure plate has screws instead of rivets and is the way to go. The rivets can break and then you cannot get the gearbox over the clutch when dismantling.

Yes- normal. My car (with 3.8 and LWFW) is quite loud. For me, it's no bother and maybe even a little bit appealing having driven some proper race cars... but if I was driving on the street a lot with my wife it might be different. I also wonder if when I go to sell the car prospective buyers will think something is "wrong".
Also, seconding the need to use the 4.0 bolted friction plate. I trashed a 3.8 riveted friction plate (the rivets broke).

Just did a 4.0 setup in my 3.8rs. Clutch pedal is so much lighter, it feels great. However it is just as loud as the old setup, which doesnt bother me but it is always a topic of conversation for the passengers HAHA.

On our .1RS did the 4.0 Clutch/Flywheel PPlate, 3.8 Pulley/Washer/Bolt/Belt, 4.0 FW is actually ~4lbs lighter than the 3/6 FW, PP is a but more durable for shifting.

I'll also join the 'normal' crowd. I love the sound. It just adds to the rawness of the car's character.
