Am I the last crazy guy to still drive the 4.0 on track in 2023 ?

@MKIVdan I had originally mentioned this thread/topic to OldskewS4 as a mezgers only event. He was totally on board for organizing a mezgers only event, since it would be a pretty spectacular, unique and awesome event. But given the lack mezgers willing to track at Buttonwillow (less than 15 cars) it doesn't really seem feasible.
He and I are headed to buttonwillow next weekend November 17-19.
That speed ventures event in December at BW looks kind of interesting (sunday). Perhaps we should just start a new thread for Socal trackdays, so that we could possibly link up at an event, it seems like there are a handful of us that still exercise these special cars.

When we host/organize events. It's open track, no run groups, point by passing anywhere, two track sessions (AM session, lunch break and PM session). The participants are invited and are all known entities (friends). It's extremely important that everyone is on the same page and are like minded on and off track.
From an organizer's perspective, it is inherently different when opening up an event like this to the public (private forum 996/997 GT crowd) and then adding potential complexities by mixing with another group (718,991,992 GT crowd).
The point of the list was to gauge interest for a truly unique event with mezgers only. The people, the cars, everything. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough interest from the 996/997 GT group at this time.

In reality....as someone that has a lot of track experience in the last 15 years, I'd rather track with people that know what they're doing instead of anyone with a type of engine in one run group...honestly the proposition sounds insane to do that tbh. it's gonna be 996/997 GT bumper cars
imagine @usctrojanGT3 getting on the track with a $750k GT3rs 4.0 and trying to pass some dude in a 997 gt3rs thats been to the track once legit nightmare scenario ROFL

It would be very cool to do so. There are 14 such cars on the list. How many more are needed? Was this published in the 996GT sub? Is it open to Turbos? Sounds as though the list is more than half way there.
