New generation is quicker but the engine is not better and the car is heavier and the difference comes from the driver’s capability to take advantage from the aerodynamic. For instance Blue one run not really quicker than me, the green one was really quicker

Not mine but chatted with the owner at Thunderhill a couple weeks ago. Lovely to see it being used properly!

I remember back in 2014 a buddy had one. Paid under MSRP and freaked out when they announced the 991.1 GT3. He believed it was going to decimate the 4.0's value and fire sale'd it. Cut to the good natured ribbing I give him each and every time I see him now.

OP: it's awesome you drive the car as intended. It gives me hope for Porsche owners

The value has plummeted catastrophically. I’ll do you a favor and take it off your hands 😬

Thank you for driving your Porsche. 4.0 or 3.8 or 3.6 it does not matter. Your driving the car is what you are supposed to do. YOU are doing everyone a favor as if the cars are only in a collection know one would even remember. Drive it as it was meant to be driven. An RS is is a beautiful thing. Meant to be DRIVEN.

996 and 997 GTs are few and far between at track days these days, which makes it that much more awesome. Keep on keep'n on #notcrazy

Very rare to see 996 and 997 GT cars on the track these days - and can't remember the last time I have seen a 4.0 out on public roads! Track insurance is getting very pricey.

was out at the track a few months ago with a buddy, there was.... ONE 997 generation GT car out there... used to be we'd have whole run groups full of them. I'm guilty of same.

Quick Reply: Am I the last crazy guy to still drive the 4.0 on track in 2023 ?
