997.1 RS Sharkwerks 4.1 upgrade
Any comments on the Sharkwerks 4.1 upgrade on the 997.1 RS?
I emailed them for pricing. Hoping to hear back soon.

it’s about 80k. Can be more depending. And get in line. Think about 18 months till they can take the next car. But everyone with one raves about it. Proven. And good guys there.

I'd also look at BBi's offering.

Personally would rather do an Autometrics built 4.0 or 4.2 but to each their own.

pretty sure they replace the liners. The beauty of the Mezger is that the liners are replaceable, unlike most production engines. I think they just replace the pistons and liners with 4.0 or 4.2 specific parts.

Roughly how much is an Autometrics rebuild?

I think about $15-20k less than Sharkwerks build, or at least thats what I remember when I looked into it over a year ago.

I would assume that at this point SW has enough experience building these motors to justify a $15-20k premium. In a job like this, you can probably get similar results day 1, but long term reliability and tuning are a separate topic.
