Default 7.1 RS factory installed cage mounting plates

I've read here and there that early production US model 997.1 RSs came with factory installed plates for mounting the clubsport cage.

Wondering if anyone has more info on the topic. When did the factory stop installing them on cars headed to the US / how many cars got them?

I can't answer your questions. But I can confirm that some early cars have them...mine does.

Easiest way to tell is take out the seats and peel up the rear carpet by the rear footwell. Just pulls up by hand. You’ll see them.

I can’t recall if you can see them from the underside.

We know that some January production month cars had them. Mine was produced in March, so it'll be interesting to see if they're present.

No need to remove seats. Just lift carpet at the back of the rear footwell.

Thanks for sharing. I always search, but didn’t find this one.

According to that thread the cutoff is between 2542 and 2569, assuming the plates correlate to VIN order.

I remember when the reinforcement plates discussion was going on and it was fun. Member 'Max Power 'built a wonderful Registry for the 2007-2008 GT3 RS but it has since been removed (he was noting 'plate' or 'no plate'). There was a yes/no vote poll thread as well but not many responses to it

Yes Plates: 2366, 2392, 2415, 2449, 2475, 2525, 2527, 2529, 2542

No Plates: 2569, 2571,2582, 2648, 2717

You can literally find out in 5 sec if you push forward the seat and pull up the carpet
