Default End of Term: Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3 RS

After 7 years, our Porsche 911 (997.2) GT3 RS has just headed off to a new owner. Here's the the story behind it:

End of Term: 911 (997.2) GT3 RS

Thoughts? Was I right to let it go? What should replace it?

Nice article! I don't think I could ever sell mine, but as long as you're happy!

I've read your blog plenty. I recall you saying you would never sell this and the 675LT. You must be getting an RS 4.0 or another RS?

Tough call to make, but I would made the same decision.

It just wasn't getting the use needed to justify keeping it . I still have the 675LT Spider and no plans to sell it. SCG 004S is on order. More to come likely at the end of the year.

Curious if the carrera gt you were looking at had a repainted door?

Awesome story. Thanks for sharing. I sometimes worry that my car is becoming a "point A to point A" car too as the values continue to climb and living in a dense city.

I've only had mine for a 3 months, but I do get what you're saying about this car. It's truly raw and I find it hates to be driven slow puttering around town. Thankfully my wife thinks it's not that bad and that the GT2 bucket seats are even more comfortable than the newer 918 style. Glad you decided to pass it on to let someone else enjoy that beast properly.

Was this the same WC GMG car that was for sale at Porsche SF a few months back? I was thinking of picking it up since it seemed like a great price for a 997.2 RS.

It did not (as far as I know). History was reported as being clean.

Metallic silver car? I have a 360 CS in Argento where the doors look ever so slightly different under certain lighting. Different materials will do this. I thought it was repainted but it was factory.

I have followed your ownership of the 997 for many years and always enjoyed the updates. I have to say, SSO, this feels like an error in judgement!

You should get a Bugatti La Voiture Noire.
