Did all the .1's have sunroofs?

In North America, yes (other than the RS). No sunroof delete option. Meanwhile in Europe none of them had sunroofs and there wasn't even an option to add it.

I'd love to know which Porsche product manager is responsible for that so I can curse their name under my breath

The OP is in Vancouver BC. Buying a RoW .1 with the 15 year import rule is a great option to get a non sunroof .1 car. Probably cheaper too.

997.1 taco wing > 997.2 wing. 100% objective.

I think you mean 100% subjective. 100% objective would need something to support it.

LOL. Well I had a .1 and loved the look but I think I'm one of the few. I also feel the 997 wing doesn't have a name and just rode on the 996 wing's name. It surely doesn't look like a taco. I always knew it as the Aero WIng.

The real question is, can you provide those facts?

Yup, the so called taco wing was named for the 996 GT3.

funny that the taco wing can inject so much emotion into the conversation. I personally verrrrry much dislike it,... and yet at the same time I don't mind, and don't even give it a 2nd though,... the so-called wart. Lol

Like the taco but have a strong dislike for the .2 GT3 wing. I think it just looks too narrow and stubby for the rear end of the car and should have been made a few inches longer. The 991 GT3s have a similar-ish wing design but look much more proportionate to my eyes.

If I'm ranking my subjective preferences on wing design: .1 RS >> .2 RS > .1 >> .2.

Different strokes.

Isn't the taco wing the 996.1 GT3/Aerokit? I wouldn't call the 997.1 GT3/Aero Kit wing a taco.

I wasn't a fan of the wing when I first got my .1. It grew on me as I just kept telling myself, it has characteristics of the 993 Turbo wing, where it kinda melts over the rear hips. That's something you start to appreciate when you wash the car on a regular basis. You see how it blends together with those hips so perfectly.

I've gone back and forth on the skinny body wings. However, when I've been behind Upscale in his .2 in the canyons,, which is the cleanest .2 I've ever set eyes on, I realized it's a beautiful design whereby the wing being narrower than some might want, really helps accentuate the hips of the car making it look like a wide body. Yes, Kevin, ya got a beautiful behind.

996.1 GT3
That's correct Elliot. Porsche states that from the side it looks like a taco shell. I wouldn't call the 997.1 wing a taco wing either. It never got a name.

Duck
Whale
Taco
Swan

Looks like the 997's got forgotten about. We should work on getting some names for our wings.
