i got a little toy, i only have 5 days to get it broken in, track prepped and clear bra'd. sam and wilson of premier not only was able to squeeze me in, working well into wee hours of the morning (4am) they did yet another fantastic job.
i dont have the pix, but chk out http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/ for other jobs they did. if you are in CA, you are making a BIG mistake if you dont have sam do your car. he's that amazing!

Mooty,
I am in the Bay Area and there are many good installers, Premier, while good, happens to be one of the more expensive ones; and yes, I have experienced their work. No problems, but not any better (and more inconvenient for me) than others. To all: Shop around (in my world quality is a given) and negotiate the best price you can. Any good installer will stand behind their work.

Hey John,
I saw your new ride at Sammy's on Tuesday. Looks great. I hope you deleted A/C on that one - you're getting soft! For example your RS is positively loaded with options Congrats!Josh 2002 GT2 2007 E63 Wagon 2007 GT3 RS (Waiter) |

On the issue of Custom vs. Precut (e.g., XPel), you have fewer seams (hidden seams) but you risk a blade to your paint, correct? How do installers prevent cutting your clearcoat as shown in some threads?

frayed - actually most of the cars coming into us for redos having paint damage from blades are in precut forms or kits. Stuka could chime in on that if he wants. What is most important is on the installer(s). If the installer cannot install a precut kit correctly or if the kit does not fit properly (using poorly designed kits) than he would have to trim to compensate, which is a risk if the installer is not trained or experienced in using blades. This goes the same for bulk installers as well, but from our day to day experience, most damage occurs from precut installers possibly because there are more precut installers than bulk installers. (naturally the rate of incidence is higher due to this demographic)
Excellent custom / precut installers have very refined techniques in installing that will not damage a customer's car whether it is trimming real-time or drawing custom templates. (there are quite a few highly skilled precut installers in the nation - mostly are from Xpel, but do your part and research a little more to ensure you are getting the "best" in your area) Experience / skill as we have been mentioning time and time again is the #1 pt on the checklist.

Sammy, Wilson and the Premier team are the best in the business. As others have said they do amazing work. Moreover they are unparalled in service, support and developing customer relationships. I have to admit, I was anti-film before I met these guys but after having done my Stradale every car I buy is getting the full treatment.

All things considered, it's not like Premier is THAT much more expensive than a really good installer. Let's just say that I have used one in South Bay that did really good work on my Turbo. Lte me repeat, that South Bay shop did pretty darn good work.
Premier was maybe 500 bucks more, but the difference in workmanship is worth it. So yes, they are even better than a really good installer. And I have been using clearbras since 2001. |
