Rear seats installed (pics)

This thread is fantastic!
I've been struggling picking my next P-car as the C4S is aging and it has to be TT or GT3.
No rear seat in the GT3 was a concern as I need to drop kids to school every morning (about a mile away!) so I was worried I would have to take kids to school with one car, come back home to take the GT3... pain in the butt as a waste of time.
I love this forum

Hey guys. My name is Hans. Long time reader, first time caller... just wanted to say a big thank you for the info in this thread. I'll be needing a single rear seat behind the passenger side for my daughter. The Recaro booster seems ideal.

Just some info for this thread.
I have belts in rear of my GT2 without seat bases or backs and after trying many different seats the best for fit and ease of access and possibly safety are the old style Porsche Junior Isofix as per the pic below.
These seats fit the most square right up the the back so kiddie gets most leg room possible and it is easy to plonk them on the seat base as it is nice and low. The padded bar bit is there for younger kids >10 months (seat is rated from 9kg) but they soon grow up and you just use the belt which is super easy to use and fits nicely keeping them snug - They come up on Ebay often and whilst I know some say don't buy second hand child seats, I think we are savvy enough to be able to see that the seat hasn't been damaged - I have two in the back for 3 yo and 6 yo

1. They will never produce a GT3 w rear seats (as they have to then change car set up quite markedly, higher load tires etc for a situation where there is potentially another 160 lbs in each corner). ( I had asked the same question of their head of the non GT 911's the day before and got the same answer. GT3's are set up as 2 seaters.)
2. I asked if the tub is thinner and he said no, but that they have to "take away" some material to fit the mounting brackets that are not available for sale.
Obviously, he needs to be careful what he says and I hope I have not misquoted him at all, but this is the gist of it.
He's a very gracious guy, taking the time to genuinely answer all questions from us non-engineering minions

I asked Andreas Preuninger about this at Rennsport V.

The 997.2 tub does not have the seat belt bungs in it... so they changed the tub between .1 and .2, maybe that was all that was changed?
Adding seat belts would require some extra effort in the .2
The mounting brackets he referred to retain the seat back stop and latch hardware. The part is not available from Porsche but can be obtained from a salvaged 996 or 997. That is what I did.
And yes, of course GT3s are set up as two seaters
There are some out there that are now 4 seaters
