Default 993 gt2 and 997 gt2 finally meet (pics of course)

after 7 months of having the 997 I was finally able to get the 993 to the same place. And not any old place either. The f1 circuit at Magny cours! Had a great day driving both cars... the 997 feel like it is from a different planet in terms of speed and grip but the 993 is still fantastic, light, fast and more sensual. Got to ride for a few laps in a 997 cup, which is always a mistake. a track car on track is something else entirely. (scuderia is not mine)

Thanks for the very nice pictures. Special cars, all of them. Allow a few personal observations:
- Monaco license plates are funny
- The matt black cup car is stunning. The best thing here.
- The 993 GT2 was always a revered car of mine, but I can´t believe how old it looks here. Truly like a car from a past century. With the aero lip and wing it looks even older than a regular 993. Strange.
- The Scuderia is very pretty. A red Ferrari works better for me than a red Porsche (sorry, but I hope understandable coming from a white Porsche guy)

Now two questions:
- How was the 993 GT2 on Cup tires compared to 997 GT2? Did you notice any characteristic lairyness of the chassis or was it improved by the tires? Or maybe magnified in some way?
- How are the brakes on the 993 GT2 compared to PCCB´s.

Thanks!

thank you. the 997 cup is stunning. the 993 feels old and looks old in some many ways, which is why I am liking it more and more.

-the grip of the 997 is much much better on the 997, I feel I have to be very very careful with the power in 2 and 3 in the 993... the 997 can really be beaten and is easy to drive in comparisson. The only scary thing in the 997 is the speed it picks up. Difficult to talk about the tyres.. the difference in the chassis is so large between the two cars.

the cup tyres on the 993 do make it much easier to handle than what I had previously... think it was pzero. the more grip the better.

the brakes on the 993 are really really good, no sign of fade. It is all in the reduced weight of the car.

Thank you. I know I am a light-weight dork and always have to comment on this stuff, but it is so true. The brakes on my 997 are unbelievable and scrub off speed without a huff or a puff; but they damn well better! With 380 mm rotors up front with 6 piston bear claws, what do you expect. But the car needs them because it weighs about 3,200 lbs. You should see the dinky brakes that I had on my Elise, they made BMW brakes look vastly superior. But they did the job, and quite well I might add. It dosn't take much to slow down a 2,000 lb car that can usually only get up to 100 to 110 on the track anyway.

Also Bi-Bo, thank you for the pics, they were all beautiful and you have some fine cars. I love your red GT2, very nice! But I must say, I would not mind doing a flat black paint on my GT3; that Cup car is slicker than snot on ice cream.

Btw, I own 3 1995 993 RS. One in green, one white, and one black; and I love them all as if they were my children. But I wish they were 1:1 scale; 1:43 is harder to get into than my Exige.

The 997 GT2 looks like a nice sport's car, the 993 GT2 looks a god damn race car. It really looks raw..... And I love it.

BTW the satin black cup is really gorgeous.

Thanks for the nice pictures.
