Great choice Paul! My brother has a C350 4matic which I took on a road trip and loved the way it drove. It made my GT3 feel agricultural by comparison.
Normally, they say you can wax the car 4-6 weeks after the paint was cured, but who know if that applies to modern paint. I immediately glazed & waxed my GT3 after getting it as the prep work done pre-purchase was substandard.

Congrats on the new ride Paul! The clear coat finishes do not need to 'cure' anymore...go ahead and protect her new finish with either a sealant and/or a high grade carnauba wax.

Burning Brakes
gorgeous car congratulations. I get lots of wheel time in my business partner's E55 and every single time after a weekend with that car I'm on the web looking for a deal on one!
Regarding the C63 can I ask the following...
- MPG so far? (E55 is getting 17mpg...but if you have to ask right)
- I've seen reports of traction issues and difficulty putting the power down in the C63 (even during normal driving)...any comments?
- Does the transmission seem up to the task?
I'm going to be in the market in the coming months for a new sedan for my wife. Here's my current frame of mind (welcome comments and input).
- New Audi S4. Out in the spring? Speculation about carrying over the 4.2 V8 or a new TFSI Six that's lighter more efficient, about the same output. this is the leading candidate but I don't need Quattro in CA and the "too light" steering/road feel of Audi's have always left wanting. I really like the new A4 design though (seen on the web only so far). I like but am not in love with an S5?
- BMW. What can I say, the new turbo 335 engine is so desirable (but runs too hot I'm told) but I just can't stand the design and moreover...they are EVERYWHERE here. The M3 is way too boy racer for me also.
- C63 AMG. We factory ordered a 2001 C320 Sport and expected more than it delivered - I couldn't stand it. The build quality was terrible (too much Chrysler not enough Daimler) and it didn't age well not to mention the (sport) seats were TERRIBLE, like concrete. But the AMG's are on a totally different level and I can't overstate how much I love driving my partners E55.
Please keep us updated on your C63 ownership experience...I'm suddenly rethinking everything!
