Question need tips on roll bar install

Hey everyone

It's my first post here and asking for help already lol

I got the new GMG roll bar and having one heck of a time trying to have it installed. I am stuck at getting rear "legs" clearing the rear seat hump without braking through my roof in the same time.

Any tips on installing these GMG roll bar? Do I need to take off headliner or pillar trims?

This is for my 07 GT3 RS

Thanks

Mike

It looks like you might have wait for GMG to get back to you with some DIY tips. My guess is you're right about removing the rear carpet over the seat positions -- it's quite thick foam under there and you have to cut the seat belt holes anyway. Another reason why I like the DAS bar -- it goes to the suspension strut tops (a lot more beef than the small nuts sitting in the sheet metal for the seat belt anchors) and it's easy to install. : )

I did not install the GMG bar but I did install the P bar. when I did mine in my GT3 I had to peal back the rear carpet and remove some tape over the threaded holes and then cut the carpet. I then had to trim some plastic under the carpet so the front legs that attach to the outboard lap belt anchors would fit in there correctly. You must get the bar setting in perfect or you will cross thread the bar bolts. I have attached some pics and a DIY that may be helpful. Good luck.

I had TRG install the GMG bar in my 6GT3. They said it was a ***** to get in (stiffer than the TQ bar, but similar procedure to what Todinlaw describes) and had to call GMG to get some help. I'm not sure if you're doing it alone or not, but I'd say it's definitely easier with a couple of people. I'd call GMG as was mentioned above. Good luck...
