Default 2009 997 GT2..Amazing!!

Just picked up my new GT2 on Friday!
Original plan was to wait for the 2010 GT3 RS but after seeing this car at the dealer I kept going back every few days to look it over, kept telling my self to wait, wait, wait and not go for the GT2 considering how bad (my opinion) for track use the 6GT2 was.

I was warned by my friends who owned the 6GT2 and had another budy after driving the 7GT2 warned me to stay away from the 7GT2...they said it would be crazy to not wait for the 10 GT3 the true track champ.

Well this car is not even remotly close to the 6GT2, what a car..Wow!
The torque this car has is insane, handling around the city is amazing, I can't stress how much I love everthing about it...best car I have ever owned!!

After making my friend drive it...yes I forced him.. he came back all smiles and has called my several times since..going on and on about how amazing it is...he now is headed towards getting the 7GT2 as well, over the RS.

Congrats! There is a Carrera White GT2 at my dealer, always beckoning. You have the same disease I have; I was planning on ordering a 10 GT3, but succumbed to plain 09TT last month - why wait when you can drive it home now???

Congratulations on owning the best 911 Porsche has ever made IMHO

Get some lighter rims on it and it will "dance" even more sweetly

Great decision. I also have a white one but with black rims and can't say enough about how great a car it is. My first modifications were a roll bar, six-point harness and fiire extinguisher from the Shark Werks (Alex posted the pictures a few weeks ago). Once I took it to the track I was blown away. I had a 996 GT3 and think the GT2 is actually easier to drive on the track.

Good luck and great driving.

It's great to see someone totally in love with their car. It's been a while since a post with this much passion was posted. Makes me think back at the time I bought my GT3. Great Feeling. ENjoy in good health

She's a beauty. Enjoy in good health. I'd be interested in your opinion of the seats after you take a couple hour drive. I like the white on white treatment with the wheels.

Congrats on a beauty.. But your thoughts about the 6 GT2 are just plain ridiculous. Enjoy the car though.

My thoughts exactly. I vastly prefer your car to the current GT3s -- and not so much for the engine. Just a brilliant car, really dialed in from the factory. Accessible, fun handling. Great grip. And faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaast. And good around town. And....

Only a few will ever know how good the 997 GT2 really is. Enjoy it!

Absolutely on the lighter rims, on my GT3 when using the BBS magnesium's there was a major difference in handling.

What type, size and weights are your wheels?
