Yup, I want one too! I can't imagine an Atom with 500 hp though. I drove own with 240 and was very impressed, this thing must be unreal. If it is an NA V8 with less than 3.0 liters of displacement, than it will be even better than a FI motor. But I think it will still need FI to get 500 hp.

I agree this is THE track car to get! Its super light and uber powerful and will give far far more thrills per $ on a track than anything porsche makes currently (much as I love porsche)

Buy one of these and stop d*cking about shaving 2oz here and there off your GT3's by speccing toiletpaper dash trim and drive the GT3 on the road in full lux spec where it belongs!

You can get toiletpaper dash trim? Do you have part numbers?

I bet it's NA... otherwise there's no point in using the motorcycle motors.

On a more serious note - I have driven an Atom 300 on a track and its was a truely mind blowing experience. I passed 997TT's like they were not even moving, under full acceleration it felt like my head/helmet was going to be ripped off due to g-forces and wind! The 300 is performance extreme like nothing I have driven before - I just cant begin to think what the 500 will be like!

engine is what i believe radical puts in its V-8, or at least closely akin. strapped Suzukis in a custom block

these cars are very squrrely with 300 HP. 500 will be a bigger handful than most can really use i'll bet. fine once you're straight (but perhaps not) but what a RUSH!!!

according to AW it's $250,000..

You can buy a used recent indy car for that OR a new Formula Atlantic. Talk about quick!! These are the ultimate track toys.

Yeah, I was surprise about $180k since I read in the UK, the engine alone cost over $150k. The base car is already close to $100k. I believe AW when they say it should cost close to $250k. We shall see...

I agree. I like power, but it has to be useable. I never liked cars (such as a 1200 hp Hennesey Viper) that require you to feather the throttle at all times, even in a straight line. If you can't put the power down, then it really is more about bragging rights than anything.

Agreed... This Atom is just a waste in my eyes, will be cool and certainly an experience, but it's balance and poise will be out the window at 500 hp IMO!

I'd take a Swift 014 Atlantic and a couple seasons racing it for $180k.

I'm with you +1000, I'm not sure of the couple seasons though. Well in the toyota days rebuilds 25K every few races, that's to be competitive. Now they're Mazdas, bullet proof.

There are very few P-cars other than full race cars, that can keep up me in the FF, at 25K best bang for the buck IMO
