Just been picking through the finer details of the UK price list and Ive noticed an option that Ive not seen anybody mention so far.

Option CYW - Sun Visors in Alcantara £free

Does anybody have any idea what material the Sun Visors are made out of if you dont specify this option! I see no mention of them anywhere in the full brochure and unforutunatly I never thought to look up when I sat in the UK launch car yesterday! As its not mentioned as an "upgraded" item in the full leather option, I can only assume they are in leatherette as standard. However giving a free upgrade to alcantara seems very un-porsche like, so maybe they are in leather???

Anybody any info either way on this one?

As listed in the US order guide

CYW Sun Visors in Alcantara $560

Standard is leatherette as on every other model

Looking fwd! Like his options list.

Joking aside, and I recognize that this would have been delicate, I would have loved to hear him on the RMS. A statement that Porsche recognized a problem existed/developed and have effectively dealt with it from a mfging standpoint in the mkII would have been assuring.

Nice pics too!

Sneaky suspicion Riveria Blue will be a among the new colors...

Two RS owners in our group of six had new engines fitted because of this and asked!

Andreas said that they've discovered the problem is actually the vacuum system being faulty. The seal is designed to work with a vacuum but if a pipe comes off (or you disconnect the pipes so the exhaust valves are always open) then the internal vacuum is lost and the seal doesn't work, hence the oil drips.

Apparently dealers have been notified they should thoroughly check the vacuum system on any cars exhibiting this issue and the vacuum system and pipes/connectors have been redesigned on the MkII...

Interesting theory re a faulty vacuum system being the cause of a RMS leak. If that is true, though, wouldn't the check engine light come on, or wouldn't there be some kind of fault triggered on the OBD?

despite the improvement to the steels, he thinks the PCCB's are way better and recommends speccing them if you can afford them. They have moved them on some more in terms of performance and weight with the Alu centres and different spring fasteners v Gen 1

the Clubsport cage is purely for safety. It adds absolutely nothing to the stiffness of the car, only some weight...

the display car had a special steering wheel with double thickness Alcantara on it. Its not on the dealers' system but he said it was better than the standard wheel and could be requested. He said the standard wheel was a bit thin for those with bigger hands...

Paint to sample is available but not advertised. It may create a delay as they put the PTS cars down the line together so you may need to wait for some other orders to join you

he said the best VFM option was PADM. A real difference on track AND road (less vibration etc) and not very expensive

Expect a Gen 2 RS but no Gen 2 GT2
Oh Oh ... this is great ... the wheel in the gen 1 is way too thin

Yes I did - hadn't posted it already as it was a bit shakey. It was the first pic I took so I guess I was still shaking with anticipation!

Looks a bit too thick to me!
