Track use = better GT3?
It's been very busy at work with this economic downturn and I haven't had the time to go to the track much this year (14 track days last year vs. 5 so far this year).
I was complaining to a friend that the GT3 was irritating me because the clutch was chattering, the brakes were grabby and noisy and the tires seemed to be roaring louder and louder.
Fast forward to yesterday where Toronto Motorsport Park had an open lapping day for $85. Considering a decent meal will run you close to that, I said what the heck and made the 1.5hr trek down.
After 6 or 7 sessions on the track, the clutch engages smoothly, the gearbox feels perfect, the tires are quiet and the brakes perfectly progressive. Who would have thought that track use would make a street car run better! These cars thrive on being thrashed!

The GT3 is the only car I have driven at the track, where I come back from a track session, and the car feels fine. All my previous track cars would have motors hesitating, unexpected noises, and once in a while a few leaks.
5 track days this year, good for you. I only have 4, for similar reasons to your 5 track days.

OT - Do you guys get the new PCA-discounted insurance for DE's? My auto insurer - Traveler's - does NOT cover any comprehensive claims if incurred at the track. While PCA'ers do get a discount, the cost of insurance for a single event is roughly 2-2.5 times the cost of the DE itself...I'm wondering if this plays a factor in lower participation this year for many people.
