Default Most of you are not getting it!

Your viewpoint is too "colored"

Over the 08 RS.......

Cup holders are optional (Ha Ha)

No storage boxes in the doors

Strip carbon fiber in the interior

More alcantara in the interior

Carbon fiber door sills

35 HP increase over the 08

Wider track (front)

Bigger tire footprint (all around)

Center lock wheels

GT2 like PSM

Higher revving (but only 100rpm)

More torque (5 ft lbs)

Bigger sway bars

Dynamic engine mounts

And all for the relatively small price increase $7900, why wouldn't you kill for this car, especially given the "heat" over the previous RS

Porsche has always been about incremental improvement, why would it be different this time, and if you don't like the colors you can tone it down, (e.g. no cost option... silver wheels)

Available as options:

Lighter weight battery (up charge)

Lighter weight headlights (up charge)

A/C delete (no charge)

Radio removal (no charge)

Nose lift (up charge)

Maybe I missed a few, since I am working from memory....

I hope I am getting it!

Respectfully submitted, (so no flaming please)!

I'd buy one in a second if I didn't already have my RS. I can't justify the cost to upgrade. I think the graphics schemes will grow on most everyone once they see one of the new cars in person.

Anyone know if the GT2 seats will be standard?

Don't know about the seat options, but I forgot about the titanium exhaust and increased downforce!

Thank you! I love the new RS and I've had the old one. Can't wait to place my order...I dropped off my deposit today. It's gonna be another rock star!

Mechanically, the car is everything I want to see in a GT3 RS (I don't want a GT3 RS with PDK).

Much more improved than ever before.

The colors are just wrong. When the first GT3 RS came to the market, it was a white car with red or blue decals , nice looking. The second GT3 RS introduced colors that everybody loved except the silver/orange.

In this latest version, they messed up every color combination, except the white/red. But then the graphics are just horrible, making the white/red look bad.

I want special order Riviera Blue, with 997.1 RS decals in black or white and matching wheels. I want Green and Orange with 997.1 black decals and wheels.

How can Porsche screw up so bad with colors? Colors are free, how difficult is it?

I went back to the Porsche website and the GT2 seats are standard. This car is a bargain in contrast to the cost for the 997.1 RS.

That is what I was trying to say, you did in a lot less words.

Heck I like the colors. And, I won't have to buy seats to accomodate a harness. Grey and red rock! I like the white also. And, I'm not into to blue cars at all, but this one has me thinking....

I sure would like to see the official US option list? Is there one in the wild? Linky anyone? PDF? Anything??

Agreed it appears to be the closest thing to an honest to goodness road race car for the street. Specs are quite desireable.

Fully aroused here.

Hey Colm, what color are you getting? I like the Grey/Red then again I think the silver orange on mine looks great I was hoping for 4 liter DFI and PDK but I guess that will be the 991 version. Since the 2010 turbo has the DFI engine I guess the RS will be the last of the GT1 motors.

It seems a much better deal then the MKI RS. You get more in comparising to bot the MKI RS and MKII GT3...

I am thinking all white, no charge lighter head lights, Silver wheels.
Upcharge engine mounts and different color mirrors, mouth piece and winglets.

Throw out the decals..

I would only pay maybe 10-20K more than a 2+ year old MKI, seems like a deal to me!
On this one you do not need to add seats and grills, so only add seat belts, roll bar and done.

The previous GT3 RS was a bargain, $122k bought a lot of car.

This one is even cheaper, it makes the 997.2 GT3 look overpriced.

Dumb move by Porsche, because at $130k people would rather order the GT3 RS than save a few thousands for the GT3. I was expecting the new RS to be in the $150k base price, given the titanium and carbon parts.

It's a good deal.

My guess is that the car will be as fast as the top production cars like the ZR-1, Viper ACR, Scuderia, Gallardo LP560/4. This car will definitely put the Nissan GTR where it deserves.
