I just bought that RS for the cool price of $ 245,000.
As soon as this NIGERIAN wire transfer goes through....something about their ministry has a extra 60 million bucks in it, and they someone with an outstanding reputation like myself......to accept their fraudulent payment to me, and I collet like a 15% fee. 9 million bucks here I come !

200 sounds like North America total for '10 and '11.
I think it's a useful market barometer to see a couple of scalpers go through eBay and see what they get. There's just not the money in the buyer's right now. Once the available cars disappear from the dealers that speculated on gouging early "first kid on the block" buyers, presumably the prices will strengthen. Once there's no way to buy one or order one, we'll know the "real" baseline price.
It might not be until late 2011 once we know more about the 2011 Carrera (and the prospect of waiting to 2012 or even 2014 for an RS variant) that we'll see the real demand for this new RS to go non-linear.
As TRAKCAR wrote, $20K over is not enough to make me sell my car and it's too much for me to pay to buy one. As long as this disparity exists -- a sort of "spread" of bid versus offer, then the price will go up, not down. When supply is gone, the price will find a market level and stay there or keep going higher until it finds its level.
