Talking Solution for coolant press fitting and water pump failure/pics

Bring a spare car. lol
Some fun pics of recent track time and a pick of the small J pipe press fitting that seems to come out on 996 GT3 that see track work. I thought putting pressure on the pipe with safety wire would help and if down the road someone needed to take the pipe out just cut the wire.

I guess that was CFRA at Buttonwilow.

The thing I've seen come off the 996 GT3 is the power steering fitting (plastic!) Happened to Jeff Rosen at Thunderhill. A Porsche tech there suggested he'd seen more than one GT3 suffer the same failure and the Cup car has a metal fitting.

Does Nitto have track tires for the 2010 RS? : )

ps. That's a gorgeous stacker!

Yes, CFRA BW CW first day then CCW open track the next day.
Will look for that plastic fitting. The stacker is my friends and it is sweet, it even carries 40 gals of fuel.

Nitto does make your fronts in the NT-05 and the rears are size 335/30/19 in the NT-05. http://www.nittotire.com/#index.tire.nt05.overview

My instructor friend runs the NT-05s on his Zo6 for the track and street, they wear great.

Interesting. 265 on the front would be preferable, but 245 and 335 could work if the revolutions per mile match for OEM and front-rear ratio.

Looking at the Nitto site, it's the NT-05R that looks like fun.

P275/40R17 LL 207-500 6.3 25.79 11.02 9.0-(9.5)-11.0 1433@44 806
P345/30R19 LL 207-520 6.3 27.36 13.43 (12.0)-13.5 1653@44 759

It is my understanding that the NT-05R is for drag racing in construction and compound. The street tire that does great on the track is the NT-05.
And of course the NT-01 if they have the sizes needed for your rims.

Back to the Hooters.

And the NT01 is 18 and nothing 325 or +.
